2022 Geoff McMurchy Artist Development Grant Winner!

bailey macabre (they/them) is a disabled, agender nêhiyaw ayâhkwêw + michif/ukrainian indigiqueer multidisciplinary self- taught artist. they are passionate about bright colours, Indigenous sovereignty, language revitalization, and identity; these themes are often at play within their works.

their practices include illustration, painting, beading, comics, sewing, text, and sculpting. each of these practices are informed by their existence as a displaced and disabled ayâhkwêw, who has found peace and meaning through creating.
