Born in Vancouver and raised on the majestic slopes of its north shore, Doug Heal is a multidisciplinary artist and poet living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3. A lifelong student, Doug has studied at Emily Carr University and has degrees from Capilano and Simon Fraser University. His work is inspired by the natural wonder of the Pacific Northwest and has been showcased in Vancouver and Seattle. The goal of his art is to show that no matter where you look in the universe, if you look with the right perspective, there is immense beauty in everyone and every thing.
